Yes!! Sure he does. It is literally revealed in the books in so many phrases. For one Lestat says "I fell fatally in love with him" and from time to time talks about Louis as his lover - but whether this is a romantic nature or not, is not been made official in the books, in the narrating. You can fall in love with anyone and anything in any nature and passion is just the strength and depth of it - it doesn't determin the nature. And the term "lover" has been used in very basic means in The Vampire Chronicles: In "Blood and Gold", Marius refers to Lestat as his lover, once. Yet they never had and don't have a romantic nor sexual relationship but are a mentor and student, father and son and close friends. And according to Anne Rice when it comes to Lestat and Marius; "They could never be called lovers." Yet she wrote Marius refer to Lestat as such - so it must be for love as love. You love a person and they love you back - you are basically lovers.
Which, the open-for-interpretion type of description of Lestat and Louis, is why many imagine them as romantic lovers whereas many imagine them as just close friends. It is likely, that in Anne Rice's image they're both. However Anne Rice herself has chosen to only use the words "Lestat and Louis have a love-hate relationship." For other examples of Lestat's love for Louis; in The Tale of the Body Thief he says "I would never deny you anything", when he talks to Louis in his thoughts, and to the reader he tells "...whether he knew about my love for him and that wretched, angry chíld." The last mentioned of course refering to Claudia.
So yes, Lestat certainly really loves Louis, but what nature of love it is, is left up to the reader.
Lestat's full name is Lestat de Lioncourt.
The main characters in "Interview with the Vampire" are Louis de Pointe du Lac, Lestat de Lioncourt, and Claudia. Louis is a brooding vampire seeking the meaning of immortality, Lestat is the charismatic and cunning vampire who turns Louis, and Claudia is the young vampire made by Lestat.
ratsIt was Lestat that fed on rats. Louis ate a couple of little dogs once.
The name is Lestat, not Lestate. And no, he is a fictional character.
Her name is Claudia. Louis found her in her house clinging to her already dead mother. Her mother had been consumed by the Black Plague, but Claudia was too young to understand. She cried to Louis to wake her up and hugged him. Louis was hungry from only eating rats and bit her. He tore away in realizing what he had done, but the damage he caused to her was already done. Lestat found her and brought her back to his house to "heal" her. When Louis saw her, he felt better that he didn't kill her. But Lestat had his cruel tricks and Turned her. She took to Louis as a father figure and to Lestat as a mentor and teacher.
Yes he is also featured in The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, The Tale of the Body Thief, Memnoch The Devil all written by Lestat and The Vampire Armand and Merrick by David Talbot.
Louis, Lestat, and Armand are vampires in the Vampire Chronicles series who are dead.
Magnus created Lestat then killed himself and left Lestat to figure out what had happened. Some time after Magnus made Lestat and commited suicide, the vampire Armand and Lestat's paths cross and Lestat learns from Armand about the ancient vampire Marius, who everyone believes to be dead but Lestat won't believe it but becomes obsessed with his search for Marius. He seeks Marius out to get a teacher who Magnus refused to be to him. About 9 years pass until finally Marius, who indeed is alive, comes to Lestat and becomes his mentor, friend and a father-figure. We first meet Marius through Lestat's eyes in the book "The Vampire Lestat". The film "Queen of the Damned" (2002) had Marius as Lestat's maker in order to save minutes - according to the commentary track on the DVD - but that's not all they did, they also changed Marius's personality drastically... so, they just messed it all up, majorly.

No. He is a fictional character created by the author Anne Rice - however, she did base Lestat on her husband, Stan Rice. At least in the first part of the Vampire Chronicles - 'Interview with the vampire'. And partly on herself, later, regarding that she's also said that "Lestat is me." But originally, she based him on her husband, as well as Louis on herself and Claudia on their daughter, Michele.
The little girl is called Claudia. In the film of the book, she was played by Kirsten Dunst."My two fathers are Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt. I love both dearly."
