Joyce Carol Oates said it best: "The first sentence can't be written until the final sentence is written."
Worry about finishing your story, not about writing the perfect opening sentence! You can change anything you like once you've finished -- go back and think of a great first sentence then, instead of waiting for some magical "first sentence" to fall out of the sky and hit you in the head.
Now get off the internet and get back to writing that story!
Hey I love to write stories and I use descriptive words! Well, I think if yo need to start off with what the person in you story is doing I like to start off with the morning, you can also add the rain pit pattered on the ground. So be descriptive to make it good. To make a good ending put a conclusion of what happened to the person you don't need to be too descriptive but make the reader able to understand what your writing don't you think.
You start all short stories the same way - in the middle of the action so that the reader is pulled into the story and wants to read more.
You should probably start if off with a war scene of some sort....? :D
Did You Delete the files off of the computer ?
Well, to start off with, there are about a billion other people on Earth. I'm pretty sure someone else will change the future.
you would start off with also, the title of your story, essay or whatever you are talking about and NEVER NEVER NEVER start a paragraph with the word AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

start off with a story or quote...maybe a question..it depends on your topic
You would have to make it catchy You can use " in my words the story was like..........." Ok
It's much easier to start off as a piece of prose and then if you want it as a playscript to adapt it.
it will start where modern warfare 2 left off and starting world war 3
Well, Make sure you have a good setting, if you don't start off mysterious than it won't end very well. Some horror stories start out calm and get mysterious. I am reading a horror story by R.L. Stine, When the author writes a story, he does a lot of rewriting and editing. Make sure you do that when you write a story.
