Montag's life was filled with noise and distractions, which left him feeling empty and unfulfilled. In contrast, the silence and emptiness of nature provided Montag with a sense of peace and reflection, allowing him to reconnect with his inner self and find fulfillment in simple moments of quiet and solitude. Nature offered him a retreat from the chaos of his previous life and a new perspective on what truly matters.
Silence is eptiness! Silence is emptiness, choiseless awareness!! When one is choiseleessly aware without movement of thought.

Silence is the absence of sound; quiet is the absence of noise. (src: http://edgefieldsheep.blogspot.com/2008/07/difference-between-quiet-and-silence.html )
"Space" is one those things like 'cold', 'silence', and 'emptiness', that isn't 'something' all by itself. It's just the absence of something. Silence is the absence of any sound. Cold is the absence of any heat. Space is the absence of any material.
Silence Silence
You are being given a very great blessing in those silent, empty moments. They are your chance to listen to the inside. Be very, very still and listen to the emptiness. That's where you will find yourself--not empty at all.
Silence, of course! :p
The name is silent / silence. If you say anything to silence or where there is silence, you have ended the silence; it disappears.
No. Darkness is not something. You can't carry a jar of it from here to there unless you are Harry Potter. If darkness were something, then you'd be asking us "What happens when you put some light and some darkness in the same place ?" Darkness is the name we give to a place where there is no light. This is a lot like the situation with 'silence' ... the name we give to the condition where there is no sound ... 'cold' ... the name we give to the condition where there is very little heat ... and 'emptiness' ... the description we give to a piece of space with no things and no stuff in it. In order to produce silence, cold, or emptiness, you take something away, and in order to produce darkness, you take away light. Light has speed. Dark doesn't.
