Can you Compare shawshank redemption to count of Monte cristo?

Shawshank Redemption is my all time favourite movie. It has got tragedy, drama, victory over severe odds. Now apparently The Count of Monte Cristo has a different plot line set in a different milieu - the only commonality in the storyline being the jailbreak. Yet in spirit the two films I feel, are exactly same. The Revenge in both are stylish, muted and so fundamental to the storyline that it redeems itself in its execution. Perhaps the revenge in shawshank was swift as the last move in a game of chess while Monte Cristo scores higher on the melodrama and slower to checkmate the King. In fact now I have a strong suspicion that the author of Shawshank may have been strongly "inspired" by Monte Cristo. Frankly I have lost a little respect for the storyline of the movie after I saw Monte Cristo.

What does the count of Monte cristo mean when he says for every evil there are two remedies time and silence?

When the Count of Monte Cristo says "for every evil there are two remedies, time and silence," he means that sometimes the best way to heal from a wrong or injustice is to allow time to pass and to refrain from giving voice to the pain or anger. Time can bring clarity and perspective, while silence can prevent further harm or escalation of the situation.

How long is the abridged version of The Count of Monte Cristo?

Well, how long it takes to read "the Count of Monte Cristo" depends on your reading level and how often you plan to be reading. If you are a fast reader, and are reading for an hour or two a day, you should get done within a few weeks. If you read slowly and don't read daily, it will take you quite a while because "The Count of Monte Cristo"is a challenging book and extremely long. i've seen one that was 1002 pages, and one that was 510 pages, but don't think the 500 page book is easier or shorter to read. The length of the book depends on the size of the words in it.

What are the similarities of The Count of Monte Cristo and the two novel of Jose rizal?

Some similarities between "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas and Jose Rizal's novels like "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo" include themes of social injustice, revenge, and redemption. Both explore the consequences of oppression and corruption in society, as well as the moral dilemmas faced by the protagonists in seeking justice. Additionally, all three works incorporate elements of romance, betrayal, and the struggle for personal and societal freedom.

What are some differences between the stories of Count of Monte Cristo and Joseph?

The most obvious is that Joseph eventually forgave his brothers without doing them any real harm. He toyed with them slightly, but nothing dramatic. Another difference is that he obtained legitimate release from prison as opposed to Edmond Dantes' escape from the Chateau d'If.
