"Postmodern" means nothing because the definition of modern is "made now" (a modern look is one that is in fashion now) - so how can something be here now but made after now....it is artistic gobbledygook.
"Spaces" means just that the space outside, the space between structures and the spaces in structures.
When people use terms like "exemplary postmodern spaces" thy are being pretentious and trying to set themselves apart as some sort of elite group of savants, different form others in that they are capable of perceiving things which most people can not. When they do this challenge them to explain themselves in plain English and see how they begin to waffle and stutter.
