novella or novelette
A long prose narrative about imaginary people and events is called a novel. Novels are fictional works that tell a story through character development, plot progression, and setting descriptions.
Simply a novel can be defined as it is a long narrative piece of literature or long narrative writing but in prose form
a long story of fictional prose that involves many characters and a complex plot
That would be a novel.
The difference between "prose" and "novel" comes from the different natures of each. "Prose" is a particular style of writing, to be distinguished from, for example, a poetic style. On the other hand, a "novel" is a particular genre of literature. As a narrative of some kind, novels are constructed through the use (partial or whole) of a prose style, which of course can be used in the construction of other kinds of literature, whether letters, or blogs, or essays, etc.
An epic is a long narrative poem that typically tells the story of a hero's journey and often includes elements of mythology and grandeur. A story, on the other hand, is a broader term that can refer to any narrative, whether it be short or long, fictional or non-fictional, that conveys a sequence of events. In essence, all epics are stories, but not all stories are epics.

Try googling all these to understand better. Have I been of little help?
Novel.
A novel is often a long, fictional story written in prose (though some people publish "novels" or poetry). Depending on your definition of long, a novella (a shorter novel) may also count, or if you have a radically strange definition of long, this could be a story no longer than three pages. Your best bet, however, would be to go with a novel.
The traditional genres of poetry include the following: * Dramatic - drama in verse form * Epic - a long narrative poem, usually with a hero on a quest * Lyric - rhythmic poetry that deals with emotion and thought * Narrative - poetry that tells a story * Prose Poetry - a hybrid of poetry and prose, with definite rhythm but no rhyme * Satirical - insult in verse form * Verse Fable - a succinct poem with anthroporphic animals or inanimate objects telling a fable with a moral
