One of the main events, in the beginning, is that she is cursed by the fairy that she must be obedient to anyone when she is a baby. Another event is that she is in the market with her stepsisters many years later, and her sisters tell her to steal a pair of glass shoes. She steals them, and runs away, which is what her sisters tell her to do. She cannot resist against the obedience, and someone is chasing her, and as she jumps off a roof over a pool full of tomato sauce, the man chasing her says freeze and she freezes in midair. A third event that happens sometime during the book is that she meets the prince while venturing through the castle, and they begin to bond together. A fourth event that happens is that the brother of the king of the land plots to steal the land from the prince and finds out about Ella's obedience from her sisters, who betray her to the brother of the king in exchange for royalty and money. A fifth plot is that Ella resists the command that the brother's king tells her to kill the prince, but the brother of the king deceives everyone and tells the guards to get her and send her into the dungeons because she tried to kill the prince. A sixth plot is that Ella breaks out of the prison in order to save the prince and king from the evil brother of the king, and tricks the brother of the king into wearing his own poisonous crown, that he used to try and poison the king (or was it the prince).
