The Boy Who Dared by Susan Campbell Bartoletti is about 17-year-old Helmuth Hubner who is the youngest person arrested and sentanced to death in WWII.The book starts out on day 264 on death row in Plotzensee Prison in Berlin, Germany. There are flashbacks of Helmuth's life as he grows older and more aware of Hitler's evil plot. Helmuth listens to illegal radio stations and disributing in anti-Nazi Propaganda until a fellow apprentice turns him in and he is sent to the guillotine on day 264. Helmuth is killed in tha last sentence in the book, "And Helmuth is floating."
