The Ghost of Christmas Past visits Scrooge and takes him into his past to see various Christmas seasons. The first is when he was a child and was left alone at school over the holidays, until his sister fetched him home. The second was the Christmas party hosted by his then-boss, old Fezziwig. At this party, his sweetheart Belle returns his ring, saying he has chosen another love (money). The third scene is of Belle and her husband and children celebrating a happy Christmas. Scrooge begins to regret the years he spent accumulating money when he could have had a happy life with a family and his misogynistic habits and attitudes.
