Who should be punished for Romeo's and Juliet's deaths?

Although it is by no means clear what "Romeo and Juliet's time period" might mean (Do we mean Shakespeare's time?), the answer is nevertheless that since the reign of William the Conqueror in England at least the punishment for murder is death. That is no longer true in many places since the twentieth century, but was universal before.

Nobody needs to be punished. As the Prince says, "all are punished" already.

Such a general punishment is appropriate since everybody in the play (with the exception perhaps of Benvolio) can be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

Blame could be assigned to their feuding families, specifically Lord Capulet and Lord Montague, for perpetuating the feud that ultimately leads to the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Additionally, Friar Laurence could be held accountable for his role in the ill-fated plan that ultimately results in the lovers' demise.
