Elizabeth thought Mr. Darcy vain and prideful, however, it turned out that she was prejudiced about him (without really knowing him), therefore "Pride and Prejudice."
Ya that's prety much right except i think that prejudice also comes through when Elizabeth and her sister are looked upon with scorn by those richer such as Lady Catherine.
This is what I said is my essay about pride and prejudice:
"Pride and prejudice is shown by the characters Elizabeth and Mr Darcy. Elizabeth is prejudice towards Darcy because when he refuses to dance with anyone (at the ball) she thinks he believes he is too good for all the women there. She hears rumours that Darcy is an unsociable and rude man and she chooses to believe then. He is prejudiced towards Elizabeth because he believes that she is like her family; her scheming and gossiping mother and her flirtatious and irreverent younger sisters; Kitty and Lydia. He does not believe that she could be a woman who has strong beliefs and presents herself as a respectable woman he wrongly believes that she is like the rest of her family particularly her mother and sisters."
Pride and Prejudice is a romantic movie based on a book of the same name by Jane Austen.
Jane Austen started writing "First Impressions" in 1796. In 1813, after she revised it, it was published under the current title of "Pride and Prejudice".
Complete citation information for a novel by Jane Austen typically includes the author's full name, the title of the novel in italics, the publisher, the publication date, and the page numbers if referencing specific content. For example, "Austen, Jane. Pride and Prejudice. Penguin Books, 1813."
Pride and prejudice lol
Not based on any book, but aspects of it are taken from Pride and Prejudice Actually, the film is based on the book of the same name by Helen Fielding, which does contain echoes of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, for example the fact that the hero has the surname Darcy.
Jane Austen's first two books to be published, Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice, were published by Thomas Egerton. The rest of her books were published by John Murray, who was a better known publisher.
Yes, she used 'a lady' as her pen name when publishing Sense and Sensibility.
Jane Austen began writing a novel she called First Impressions in 1796. She later changed the name and edited it into Pride and Prejudice, finishing in 1811 or 1812. It was first published in 1813.
Silas Marner was written by Mary Anne Evans, popular as George Elliot. Jane Austen authored equally famous novels including Pride And Prejudice, Sense And Sensibility, Emma and Mansfield Park.
Pride and Prejudice, where she played the heroine Elizabeth Bennet from Jane Austen's novel of the same name
Jane Austen's real name is Jane Austen. There is no real evidence that I know of that says Jane has a middle name.
Mr. Darcy's housekeeper's name in Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" is Mrs. Reynolds. She is portrayed as a kind and loyal servant who speaks highly of Mr. Darcy.
