Fantine leaves Cosette so that she can get a job and get more money for the two of them. She had every intention of taking her back from the Thenardiers, but couldn't, due to being fired.
Fantine doesn't have the money to support Cosette, and she sees the Thenardiers' children playing (who looked very healthy) and the Thenardiers took Cosette in but made Fantine keep paying ridiculous amounts of money.
Jean Valjean promises to take care of Fantine's daughter, Cosette, after Fantine's death. He feels guilty for not having done more to help Fantine while she was alive, and he vows to right this wrong by providing a loving home for Cosette.
The daughter's name in Les Miserables is Cosette. She is the daughter of Fantine.
probably either cosette or fantine
No, Jean Valjean is not Fantine's uncle in Les Misérables. Jean Valjean is a character who becomes Fantine's savior and adopts Fantine's daughter, Cosette, later in the story. Fantine's backstory involves a different set of circumstances, including a romantic relationship and a daughter born out of wedlock.
Since his parents are the Thenardiers, and he is not yet born when Fantine leaves Cosette with them, I would assume he was born in Montfermeil where their inn is located.
Their own daughter, Eponine, and Fantine's daughter, Cosette, because Fantine worked her butt off earning money to send to them so that they would keep her. I don't know it you could call it "raising", though... they were monstrous to her.
While this question is slightly vague, I will do my best to provide as much information as I can. Note that this information is based on the book, not the musical and may differ slightly.Fantine had a child, who she named Cosette. So, obviously, she kissed Cosette's father who was Felix Tholomyes. Fantine had Cosette out of wedlock, and Tholomyes disregarded Fantine and did nothing to help her when she became pregnant. So, eventually Fantine, unable to care for her child, put Cosette into the care of a couple by the name of Thenardier. This couple were innkeepers. These people were complete strangers to Fantine but because their two daughters looked well cared for, she left Cosette in their care.Fantine then leaves her child and settles down elsewhere. She is extremely poor but eventually procures a job at a factory. Meanwhile, the Thenardiers prove themselves to be bad people and continuously extort Fantine for money, claiming the money is required for Cosette's upbringing. Afraid her daughter will be turned out on the street, Fantine manages to send the money. However, Fantine is fired from her job at the factory because it has been learned that she had an illegitimate child.Fantine is eventually forced to resort to selling her hair and her teeth to pay the Thenardiers. Unable to keep up with the innkeepers' demands, she falls into prostitution, which obviously involved kisses.I know I got a little lengthy, but I wanted to make sure I answered your question and any other's that might pop up thoroughly. Hope I helped! :)
Fantine is fired from her job at the factory in "Les Misérables" because her foreman discovers that she has an illegitimate child, Cosette. The foreman dismisses her under pressure from a jealous coworker who resents Fantine for refusing his advances.
In Volume 1, Chapter 12 of Les Miserables, the main characters are Jean Valjean, Fantine, and Tholomyes. Jean Valjean is a paroled convict trying to start a new life, Fantine is a poor seamstress working to support her daughter, Cosette, and Tholomyes is Fantine's lover who abandons her.

Based on the musical;; Cosette is the child of Fantine, who she barely knew. She lives with cheap inkeepers who have a child;; Eponine. Eponine & her parents treat Cosette cruelly, using her as a servant. Jean Valjean goes to get Cosette & pays the inkeepers to take her. About 5-10 years later, Cosette is with Valjean. Eponine & Marius are speaking & then he runs into Cosette. The two of them fall in love, but Eponine loves Marius as well. I'll write more later
