Holden admires James for his courage and integrity, and the memory of him highlights Holden's own desire to protect innocence and stand up against cruelty.
She asks Holden to name one thing that he likes. Holden hesitates to think of anything but says he likes talking to her [Phoebe]
Phoebe gets angry at Holden because he only names dead people, like Allie, and material possessions when asked to name things he likes. She feels he is being shallow and not acknowledging real, living people in his life that he cares about. Additionally, Phoebe might also feel hurt that Holden doesn't mention her in his list of things he likes.

There are multiple girls in the book. Holden's younger sisters name is Phoebe. The prostitute he gets name is Sunny. The girl the he likes, who Stradlater "gave the time to" is named Jane Gallagher. The girl that he used to date is named Sally Hayes. Those are the most important women characters in the book.
Holden buys the red hunting cap for himself in "The Catcher in the Rye." He mentions that he likes it because he feels more connected to Allie when he wears it.
