Tiered credit is a categorization that will differ from lender to lender and may change over time as the credit markets rise and fall. A fairly common label for tier 3 would be "low-to-mid 600s" so it would be safe to say it would cover 600-650 or so. However, keep in mind that lenders catering to the higher or lower echelon of credit ratings may categorize this differently.

Of course you have to open an account or a credit cards for you to be able to get a credit score. I personally get a credit cards and check my three credit report from different bureaus.

there are three reporting agencies and this allows you to get your credit score from all three. it also allows you to check for inaccuracies your score.

A credit score of 709 is considered to be good. Anything over 750 is excellent. However it is a good idea to note 700+ is considered a TIER 1 rating by most auto dealerships.
