It all depends on the culture, the country, the business and the weather.
In some countries 'business men' dress in dark suits, have black shoes, wear a white shirt and a tie. But a used-car salesman in the same country might wear something far more casual for his business. The attire of a man in the fashion 'business' might be something rather special and unique so that he stands out in a crowd.
In Saudi Arabia a business man will wear (in addition to his underwear!) a thobe [body garment], ghuttera [head scarf] and aqal [head rope]. This loose fitting clothing is ideal for the hot climate, whilst preserving local customary modesty. For important social functions a good quality mishla [gold-edged woollen cloak] will make a very good impression!
And, of course, we need to distinguish between formal and informal business dress i.e. the business dress to be worn on formal occassions, and the permitted 'casual' business dress that could be worn in the workplace while working with colleagues.
