The proper rule of thumb is 10 gallons for every inch of Aquatic turtle you have. So if your three turtles each measure 4 inches long, for example, you need to have AT LEAST a 120 gallon tank.
No Tank is Really Going to be Large EnoughFor a group of turtles, no aquarium is ever really going to be large enough. The post above provides an excellent guideline for how much swimming space to provide your turtles - but you must also allow for basking space as well. Your best bet is to look into a preformed pond (which are available at most home improvement stores). When set up properly they provide a more natural habitat (less stressful for your turtles), and are much easier to clean, light, and heat... they are also far less expensive - allowing you to spend your money on fixing them up - rather than providing the bear minimum. :)That is not true you need maybe about a 30-40 gallon tank. :)
If it is an aquatic turtle,( ex: red slider) you need to have 1 gallon of water per shell inch of your turtle. So if your turtle has a 4 inch shell; you would need a 10 gallon tank with 4 gallons of water in it.
No, a 10-gallon tank is not big enough for a hamster. Hamsters require a minimum of 360 square inches of floor space, which is typically not provided by a 10-gallon tank. It is recommended to provide a larger enclosure for the well-being of the hamster.
it all depends on the amount of water you can usually get by with a 10 gallon heater
Only one, and sometimes a ten gallon tank isn't enough room. The tank should be 4-5 times the turtle length wise and 3-4 times the turtle in width. If you have more then one, each turtle should get that amount of space. The water should be 1.5 times deep for instance a 7 inch turtle would have water 10 inches deep.
No. A 10 gallon tank is barely big enough to keep a single goldfish in.
it depends on how big the turtles are. if it has a 5 inch shell, it shoud be kept in a 5 gallon tank minimum. add the shell lengths together. if it is under 10 inches, they can fit. also, figure out if they like the same type of invirment and if they will fight or not.
yes but if they have babies it wont be
No! It's not big enough you need a 10 gallon to 20 gallon tank or aquairuim for breeding and you need to be experienced for breeding. In short, no you can't try a 10 gallon tank or over that :) hope I helped
A 10 gallon tank is too small for most turtle species, as they require ample space to swim and bask. It is not recommended to keep turtles in tanks this small, as it can lead to health and behavioral issues. If you're considering getting a turtle, research the specific species' habitat requirements to ensure you can provide a suitable environment for their well-being.
My guess it that it is not going to be a happy little turtle! I would recommend a MUCH larger tank or a fenced-in outdoor pond!
Not for long. I advise you buy a 1 gallon tank until you can get a 5-10 gallon. Tadpoles need space. Wait, how big is it?
Well a 10 GAL. tank is big anough a five gallon tank is to small because your critter needs room to run and thereneeds to be room for food and water bowl and hide out.
