It is very hard to lower pH in an aquarium. The store with suggest using "PH Down," but it does not work. I have tried it, but the pH just goes back to normal within a day. Using chemicals to lower your pH usually will do more harm than good. It is better to just keep your pH at a constant number.

How is acid rain levels measured?

by it's PH. The lower the PH, the higher acidic it is.

Is alkaline increaser the same as PH decreaser?

No - Alkaline is on the high end of the pH scale, acidic is on the low end of the pH scale. Use a pH decreaser to lower the alkaline levels.

How does pH affect the levels of dissolved oxygen in a solution?

The pH level of a solution can affect the levels of dissolved oxygen. When the pH is lower (more acidic), the solubility of oxygen decreases, leading to lower levels of dissolved oxygen. Conversely, when the pH is higher (more basic), the solubility of oxygen increases, resulting in higher levels of dissolved oxygen.

Will pH minus lower bromine level?

No, pH minus will not lower bromine levels in a pool or spa. pH minus is used to decrease the pH level of the water, while bromine is a type of sanitizer. To lower bromine levels, you can dilute the water or use a product specifically designed to remove bromine.

Does lime raise or lower pH levels?

Lime raises pH levels because it is alkaline in nature. When lime is added to soil or water, it reacts to neutralize acidity and increase pH levels.

How does pH relate to acidity?

pH is a measure of the acidity or basicity of a solution. A lower pH value indicates higher acidity, while a higher pH value indicates lower acidity and more alkalinity. pH is determined by the concentration of hydrogen ions in a solution, with more hydrogen ions leading to a lower pH (more acidic) and fewer hydrogen ions resulting in a higher pH (more basic).

Why different skin areas may have dieeferent ph levels?

Different things can raise the PH levels on your skin. Washing can lower PH so that means areas of skin like your face and hands will have a lower PH level than your torso or feet.

How does caffeine affect the body's pH levels?

Caffeine does not directly affect the body's pH levels. The pH levels in the body are mainly regulated by the kidneys and lungs. Caffeine can, however, increase stomach acid production, which may temporarily lower the pH level in the stomach.

What will lower pH is apool?

PH measures the acidity / base levels of the water. To lower the PH, you will need sometime of base. They sell PH Minus (to lower) the PH in many stores. If you do not have access to that you can actually use something like baking soda, but it may affect the clarity of the water.

How can I lower the pH of soil effectively?

To lower the pH of soil effectively, you can add materials like sulfur, aluminum sulfate, or iron sulfate. These substances help make the soil more acidic, which can be beneficial for certain plants that prefer lower pH levels. It's important to follow instructions carefully and test the soil regularly to monitor the pH levels.

What is the relationship between carbon dioxide (CO2) levels and pH in a given system?

The relationship between carbon dioxide (CO2) levels and pH in a system is that higher levels of CO2 can lower the pH of the system, making it more acidic. This is because CO2 can react with water to form carbonic acid, which then releases hydrogen ions, leading to a decrease in pH. Conversely, lower levels of CO2 can result in a higher pH, making the system more basic.
