yes. Great White Sharks are very effective hunters but humans are not generally on the menu. If a person is bitten or attacked, it is usually of mistaken identity. Great white sharks feed on seals mainly. It is possible for a shark to mistake a surfer for a seal. In most cases the shark bites, then releases when it realizes that it doesnt recognize the taste. Most human deaths linked to the great white, are because they are attacked head on. The Shark will not just slow down, because it is uncertain. For them if u make a mistake, make it going full speed.
