The maximum length of the black ghost knifefish is 40 centimetres
Several years. It is more reliable to say that Black Ghost Knives are mature at 15-18 cm (6-7 inches) long.
I would be very carefull what I put with a Black Ghost Knife Fish. If a fish is small enough to fit in its mouth them it will be eaten. Bettas are a nice little morsel for them. I guess fully grown Angels, Discus, Plecostomus etc would be OK. Don't forget some of these knife fish can get BIG around 24 inches. That means a big tank and a big mouth to feed.
Your fish can not be pregnant so don't panic. They are egg layers so their eggs are fertilised and the young hatch out in the water not in the fish. Black Ghost Knife Fish (Apteronotus albifrons) grow to over 20 inches long and need a very large aquarium (at least 6ftx2ftx2ft) and are extremely hard to breed so the chances of you manageing it with your lack of knowledge (of the species) are very unlikely.
The only instrument that you need when cleaning a fish is a knife. You can clean a fish anywhere as long as you have water. Some places have restrictions on where you can clean a fish.
Needlefish, dojo loaches, kuhli loaches, ghost knives, etc.
Black is a color, not a type of fish. There are many black colored fish, all with varying life spans.
Yes opa is a kosher fish. Any fish that is born with scales and a dorsal fin is kosher. As long as it hasn't been touched by a non kosher knife
Mollies and black bettas.
You seem to have a really good set up. If you are breeding Discus and rearing them what is your problem/question? My question is I have 2 black ghosts knife fishes living in this tank and I think one is pregnant and I have no idea how to care for or breed them./ Everyone keeps answering me like I am a moron and don't know about fish and I can find very little literature. I was unaware this was so rare. Keeping black ghost knife fish has always been an easy fish for me . I just don't know about breediong.. I have yet to get a strait answer. I keeping being told i shouldn't bother it is a dificult fish ( untrue by the way) or that it is impossible ( they seem to think zI have ponly 1. etc etc. I would really appreciate a strait answer Thanks Black Ghost Knife fish (Apteronotus albifrons) come from the same and similar places to the Discus (which I bred commercially) and therefore they will obviously need similar conditions and water parameters. (That is the reason they are regarded as 'hard to keep' they need 'Discus conditions') You can't get a 'straight answer' about breeding the 'B G Knife fish' because there is no evidence that anyone has ever managed to do so. You can rest assured however that they can not get pregnant because they are definitely egg layers rather than livebearers. They also grow to over 20 inches long so they will probably need your large tank just for themselves to breed in. HTH.
scariest ghost is called 처녀귀신 in korean, and its a she, and she has long, straight black hair and a bloody face, a white gown.
