An example of commensalism in the Amazon rainforest is the relationship between sloths and moths. Sloths provide a stable habitat for moths to lay their eggs and feed on algae growing on the sloth's fur. The moths benefit from this relationship by having a safe place to live and a source of food, while the sloths are unaffected.

Some examples of pond omnivores include crayfish, turtles, and some species of fish like tilapia. These animals consume a diet that consists of both plant matter and other organisms such as insects or small invertebrates found in the pond.

There are several examples of commensalism in lakes. Some examples include pondweed providing shelter to many species of fish, but is not affected by the fish's presence. Algae finds a home on many turtle shells, without any effect on the turtle. Crawdads feed off of many dead organisms, and since they are already dead, it does not affect the organism.

Examples of carnivores in a pond include frog tadpoles, insect larvae such as dragonfly nymphs, water scorpions, and diving beetles. These organisms obtain their nutrition by preying on smaller animals or consuming other insects and small invertebrates in the pond ecosystem.
Some examples of bugs that can walk on water are water striders, pond skaters, and Jesus bugs. These insects have special adaptations that allow them to distribute their weight and use surface tension to stay afloat on the water's surface.
