Almost all goldfish can get along! i would recommend a ryukin, black moor, ranchu, fan tail if your looking for a goldfish, but for other lil critters, maybe a freshwater snail, or minnows (you can find those at a local creek) or a freshwater frog, Just make sure you have a lid and a place for the frog to take a break and hop out of the water. Comet goldfish are very fast and somewhat aggressive. Fancy goldfish should not be housed with comets because fancy goldfish's unique features/bodies often prevent them from being able to compete for food. A good tank mate other than another comet would be a shubunkin or a wakin because these fish are built similarly to the comet and can compete for food. As for a community- goldfish really should only be housed with other goldfish.
Probably, but usually the comet goldfish will get all the food and/or the other goldfish will become miserable. This has happened to me before and I do not recommend putting them in the same tanks. Try putting the fancy and comet godlfish seperate!
Yes, they are. Just be sure to not overcrowd their tank.
Other goldfish of a similar breed are compatible tank mates.Goldfish require cooler water temperatures than many other varieties of fish.Goldfish can pick on/snack on slower fish or creatures in your tank. ex: apple snails.Goldfish are aggressive opportunistic eaters and can out compete smaller or slower fish. The last point explains why you should not mix slow moving or poor seeing goldfish breeds like the celestial, bubble eye or telescope with a strong swimming shubunkin, ryukin or comet.
They eat goldfish food, the best place to get it is petsmart.they only eat goldfish food!( its unhealthy for a fish to eat other foods for there diet!)hope it helps!
i am not sure about eating sharks but i have had a few eat each other.
Comet goldfish are best suited to living with other goldfish of similar size and temperament. Due to their large size and messy eating habits, it is recommended to avoid adding other fish to a 10 gallon tank with comet goldfish. It is important to provide enough space and filtration for all fish to thrive.
They were probably fighting with each other.
yes you can keep your comet goldfish in a goldfishpond. In fact having them in a pond is a good idea, as long as they are not subjected to herons and other predators, because this variety of goldfish gets very large: up to a foot! :)
There are many different types of goldfish. The Comet and the Common goldfish are often the ones most seen. Black Moor, Bubble Eye, Butterfly Tail, Celestial Eye, Fantail, Lionchu, Lionhead, Oranda are some other commonly known goldfish.
The fish must look relativity similar to get along in SOME cases. I suggest not mixing fish but if you must, orange/white fantails and veil tails can mix.
Goldfish and shrimp are not compatible in a freshwater aquarium. Goldfish are known to eat shrimp, so keeping them together may result in the shrimp being eaten. It is recommended to keep goldfish with other fish species that are similar in size and temperament.
If your goldfish is all alone then you know it isn't from fighting or other fish. It is probably that he is growing and the scales will soon replace themselves.
