i read that beta males are very territorial. it might just be that the fish is not self aware and believes he is seeing a male that is threatneing. so for him he's just trying to get the other fish scared or to prepare to fight even though there is no other fish.
Not normally. Only male Bettas have the fight other competition response.
Hi. You can get to know your betta by examining what they do and how they react to things.
I suppose this depends on the tastes of the individual Betta.
a betta fish cause it fights alot with other fish
If it is a male betta and its finns are not openned (like when they get angry), while he is looking at the reflection (I'm guessing it's almost like a mirror reflection) there is something wrong about your fish. Maybe he/she is lonely, or it is breeding season for your fish. But careful about putting two betta fishes in one tank~!
Maybe! If you show your betta his reflection often, he might soon be better at fighting!
This can become very stressful for your betta. It will see its reflection and flare at it all the time. Your fish will think its reflection is another betta, and feel like it needs to scare it away from its territory.
I don't think they react at all unless you turn the lights on then off a lot really fast.
Not with many fish, although holding a mirror to a betta will cause it to flare its gills as it will think its reflection is competition
