Yes it would. Generally any fish will live in tank so long as the environment is correct for that species. Catfish are pretty tough and should be OK.

It would seem that the largest fish would be a Nile perch, as I have found no information suggesting that there would be Sturgeon or anything resembling Larger North American fish. Even channel Catfish here seem to get bigger then Catfish in the Nile.
