cooking chicken per pound
A typical rotisserie chicken yields about 3 to 4 cups of shredded meat, depending on the size of the chicken and how much meat is left on the bones. This amount can vary slightly based on the cooking method and the specific chicken itself. The meat can be used in various dishes, such as salads, sandwiches, or soups.
Approx 1 hour and 20 minutes; including "no heat" rotation before carving. In a "Showtime" type rotisserie, it takes the oven about 2 minutes to come up to cooking temp, then roast for 15 minutes per pound. Meat thermomoter in meaty part (away from bone) should read an internal temp of 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Rotate without heat for 5-10 minutes before removing to carve. I had the same question so I went to my local butcher. He told me it takes 1/2 hr per pound so for a 4 pound bird its 2 hours total. Set the rotisserie on bake at 350 degrees, should be ready in 4 hours. I baste it in its own juices too...mmmm Hope that helps!
You can use cooked chicken in salads by grilling, baking, or poaching it, then slicing or shredding it and adding it to your salad. You can also marinate the chicken in herbs and spices before cooking to add flavor. Additionally, you can use leftover rotisserie chicken or store-bought cooked chicken to save time.
Rotisserie chicken is normal chicken, but it's cooked in a rotating machine so when you eat it, the juicy texture and flavour is packed in so you can enjoy it!The chicken (or other meat or fish) is skewered on a long rod used to hold the food whilst it is cooked in an oven (or rotisserie machine). Alternatively, it is skewered and cooked over a fire in a fireplace or over a campfire or barbecue. The rod is turned throughout cooking to ensure that the chicken cooks evenly in its own juices. In this instance, I think the "spit" is a means for roasting or rotisserie-cooking the oxen.
