No. Just adding water to fruit would not be a good preservation method. That would increase the water activity which would allow more microbes to grow.
I dont know what "preserve" means, but the answer i would give that queston would be : EAT IT :D

Food that are approriate for the 700 calorie diet will consist of mainly fruits and vegeables. Some good fruits to eat would be melons. They contain mostly water and are filling to make you not hungry.

Water! That's the best source you can get! however, many fruits and vegetables contain high proportion of water, especially very juicy fruits, and have added benefits of many vitamins and minerals.

Yes. They are made up of some water and are a very high source of protein.
To preserve foods one must get 5 gallons of ocean water in a sanitary bucket. put the bucket of ocean water in the sun until all of the water has evaporated. Remove the salt from the bottom of the bucket and put in a airtight container. Keep repeating this until one has enough salt to pack around the food one wishes to preserve.

Need more details. "Sweet" as in with sugar added in it? Probably not good when your thirsty, or not as good as distilled water. But naturally sweet water, such as from fruits, can be very good for thirst. I know coconut water is especially beneficial, with electrolytes and all.
When there is an abundance of certain fruits or vegetables from trees etc (i.e. peaches, apples, zuccini), it is a good idea to preserve them so there is no waste. Preserved foods also suppliment the monthly food bill. They also come in handy especially in times of emergency.
