Brown sugar cinnamon Pop-Tarts are not considered vegan because they contain ingredients derived from animals. Specifically, they include Gelatin, which is often made from animal collagen, and potentially dairy products in the frosting. Additionally, some brands may use milk in their formulations. Always check the packaging for the most accurate and up-to-date ingredient list.
Brown sugar is vegan, as it contains no animal products.
Both Hain and Quaker brand apple cinnamon rice cakes are vegan, as are Lundberg Brown Rice Cakes.
Kellog's Pop-Tarts (all fruit flavors, gingerbread, sugar cookie, brown sugar cinnamon [frosted, unfrosted, and lowfat], cinnamon roll, oatmeal delights flavors) do not contain eggs, dairy, gelatin or milk byproducts. Sweetened with sugar and high fructose corn syrup, they also do not contain honey. However, some vegans do not eat refined sugar because it is sometimes processed with animal bone char. For this reason, some would say that pop tarts are vegan and others would not. Some flavors do contain dairy and/or egg ingredients--including chocolate chip, chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate fudge, marshmallow hot chocolate, hot fudge sundae, s'mores, pumpkin pie, confetti cupcake, and cookies & cream.

Yes, turbinado is vegan. It is often used as a replacement for refined granulated white sugar in recipes. The reason why your traditional white refined sugar is not considered vegan (or vegetarian), is because most refineries (not all) use the bone char method of making the sugar white. Turbinado sugar uses the expel-press method. It's safe for vegan diets.
No, Domino Sugar uses bone char filters.

Someone previously responded "Sugar is obviously vegan." This is not necessarily the case. Bone char is used in the sugar refining industry. Unfortunately I cannot answer the original question but was concerned that the blanket statement that "(s)ugar is obviously vegan" is at the very least misleading to those who do not use bone char processed sugar.
Most sugar in the US is refined using charred animal bones, so they are not vegetarian or vegan. Sugars that are vegan are: all organic sugars, unbleached cane sugar, demerara sugar, granulated cane juice and turbanado sugar.
