If the oil used to deep fry the potatoes has been previously used to for such things as fried chicken or chicken nuggets or chicken strips then the french fries are not vegan. This is because the chicken fat melts into the cooking oil which then soaks into the french fries and over a short period of time the oil becomes very full of animal fat. One safe place for vegan fast food french fries is In and Out Burger because their oil is only used to make fries. (there is no fried chicken on their menu)

Sometimes sugar is used to flavor fries(?!); white sugar may have been processed with animal bones, so avoid sugar if you are vegan.
