IMPROVED ANSWER: No, coconut water (also known as coconut juice) cannot kill you. It is good at re-hydrating the body. One serving of coconut water/milk actually has MORE electrolytes and minerals than most sports drinks, like Gatorade/Powerade. It is low in fat, and is low in food energy. One serving also contains more potassium than a banana. Some countries actually market it as a sports drink. It is also used in third world countries in place of medical saline (the fluids hospitals use in IVs) because it is sterile, easily absorbed by the body, and does not attack red blood cells--it has the closest make up to our blood plasma. The only real "downside" to drinking coconut water, is that drinking to much of it can have a diuretic effect on the body.
