Dogs are NOT people. Feed your dog a natural diet composed of as close as you can to what it would eat if it were in the wild. I feed my dogs raw chicken (bone in). Thighs, legs, wings, necks. Raw! Wild dogs catch and eat many things from mice and rats to deer, even bear on occasion. They also eat small amounts of vegetation. I don't think they eat tofu in the wild.

This last answer is narrow minded and also incorrect. Although a raw diet as suggested has benefits to a dog and their diet, it is not the only option. Good quality pet foods and even food we eat can be healthy for dogs. Especially vegetables. Even some human medications can be used on dogs, but you should always consult a vet before giving human medications. Specifically, tofu can be given to a female dog who is older as a estrogen replacement. As females get older they lose estrogen and may start to pee or dribble. Tofu may help this problem and is a good place to start before taking on prescription drugs. If you have a good vet, all these options should be considered.
FYI wild dogs have significantly lower life expectancy than our dogs so I dont see why you would stress natural and raw etc. Your textbook green ideology is useless in real life. Tofu is very high in protein which is better than parasite infested, growth hormone and antibiotic injected raw meats. Unless you are going to feed the dog natural WILD or organic chicken, dont stress over too much on raw meat diet.

To the first responder: you contradict yourself. Tofu IS natural. It is made out of soy beans. Therefore if a wild dogs eat vegetation, they would probably eat beans. I also know that animal fat is bad for dogs and can create pancreatitis.
To the second responder, thanks for your educated contibution to this forum. I am growing increasingly concerned about what appears to be a trend of misinformation on the net as people confuse opinion and fact.

Not only can dog's eat Tofu but it is also highly beneficial. Tofu contains high levels of Tryptophan and relatively low levels of Tyrosin - making it a protein which support the buildup of Serotonin levels in a dog. Animal Behaviorists may recommend it as a part of a special diet designed to support Serotonin build up and therefore combat aggression problems. The effects of nutrition on behavior have been studied and all ingredients with high levels of Tryptophan and lower levels of Tyrosin, are useful for combating aggressive behavior.
What is NOT healthy and unfortunately used in many dog foods is:corn. Very high levels of Tyrosin.
