I would not give your hamster alot of cheese as this may cause diarrhea, but they can have it in very small amounts, but i would mostly stick to fresh veggies as they have good minerals and nutritents that are good for them. You could try it with a peanut as my old hamster used to love cracking open the shell and eating the peanuts inside :)
