yes thy can
Betta fish do not "have" babies. The male betta fish builds a bubble nest and then courts the female, she will display horizontal bars (not vertical) to let him know she's ready. They will do the betta "wrap" and she will drop eggs as he fertilizes them. At this point he scoops up the eggs and puts them in his nest. Her part is done and it is best to remove her for her safety. The male will care for the eggs until they hatch at which point his job is also done.

Will two female betta's fight if there is already a dominant fish in the tank?

With or without a dominant fish in the tank two female bettas shouldn't fight. It's only the male of the species that fights.

Can a betta fish live with another betta of the opposite gender?

yes but once the female runs out of eggs to make babies the male will kill herNo, unless you want: 1. To kill the two betta's or 2. You want eggs. As you probably know, betta's are also called Siamese fighting fish. so if you leave 2 betta's alone in one tank, they will mostly kill each other in the next hour. Good Luck!Source(s): I own a betta, and it has been living with me for 3 years

Can you put two female betta fish in a filterd one and half gal tank?

What Can kill a betta fish other than a betta fish?

Well, if you love your Betta fish, then it should live by itself. But if you add another Betta to your current Betta fish's tank, then they will start a fight because Betta Fish are Siamese fighting fish and if one Betta is in contact of another Betta, the possible reason would be a fight between them two.

Why aren't two male betta fish fighting?

Some male betta fish are not as aggressive as others.

Are Betta fish calm?

Welll...yeah, in a General Sense, the Betta is Calm. However, two male Bettas together are the Antithesis of Calm. Two female bettas together will pretty much ignore one another. One male and one female betta will either Fight or F***...uhm, lay eggs, that is. As a COMMUNITY FISH, the Betta will generally not attack fish of other species....it is not a fish built for Speed and Chasing, as it were....in that sense, it is indeed Graceful and Calm. In my experience, it is more likely that a long-finned male Betta will be Pestered by the other species (ex: Tiger Barbs) than it is to Pester its (non-Betta) tankmates. Do betta fish lay how long do betta fish live for?

You mean betta fish, right? Betta fish cna lay eggs if you have two of the opposite gender in the same tank. If you have a male and female betta in one tank, they won't fight. If you have two females or two males, they will fight. So, you could see if they get allong. ig the bettas do lay eggs, they can still live together, but you MUST place tyhe eggs in a seperate tank, or they'll most likely be eatten. As for the lifecycle of a betta fish, if properly cared for, they can live for years. Two years is very old for some fish, but one man had a goldfish for 13 years!

What if your betta fish get in a fight?

Betta fish get in fights with fish with colorful fins and bodies. If your betta gets in a fight while your away, the weaker fish may die. But if you see your betta fight with another fish you should try to split the two fish apart [or all the fish that are fighting].

Is a betta fish a killer fish?

That's not it's species- but bettas will be aggressive towards other fish. Two males shouldn't be put together, neither should a male and female. Two females would be okay
