If by "clam" you mean a fresh water "Byvalve molusc" such as a Mussel. then yes they could both cohabit. But remember that the shellfish requires the same ratio of water as the fish too. So it would be reducing the amount of Oxygen available to the Betta. The base rule still applies. 1 inch of fish requires a minimum of 1 gallon of water.

Can you put a betta and bottom feders in a tank together?

Yes you can put a Betta and bottom feeders together in the same tank. I have two Chinese algae eaters and one male Betta in a 5gl tank and no one bothers each other. The bottom feeders need plants (preferable LIVE) and rocks or something they can hide under and sleep in themselves. I also have a Betta hammock (fake leave with a suction cup to attache to the side of the tank) that you can get at any pet store. My male Betta loves the hammock! One bottom feeder lives in a live plant and the other bottom feeder lives under a rock.

Can my betta go right in new tank?

First make sure if you put tap water in there you put water cleanser in there which can be bought at a pet store. Keep your betta in the bag and float it in the tank for 15 min. then without dumping the bag water in the tank use a net to move your betta to the tank.
