Yeah. If you want the fish to die fairly soon. Shubunkins are Goldfish and they grow to over 10 inches long. The basic rules for successfully keeping fish are as follows. " 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water. (To have enough Oxygen and swim space) :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter (To remove naturally occurring ammonia). Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. (to reduce Nitrates). If you follow the above rules your fish will stand a reasonable chance of survival. If you don't, I can guarantee that your fish will be constantly getting sick and will have a shortened lifespan.
I have a 10gallon with a common and a shubunkin goldfish. They are both around 2.5 inches. I am soon upgrading to a 30 gallon so there will be enough room when they get bigger.
you will need a gallon for every inch the shubunkins grow you will need at least one gallon for a snail
depends, can a ten gallon tank live in a goldfish
If you look around pet stores, they should have some Goldfish. There are Fantails and Shubunkin Goldfish. I got Shubunkin. But be careful if you put it in with Danios because I got mine yesterday and if the Danios are hungry thet might pick on the Shubunkin.
no they need at least five gallons each. a thirty gallon tank is a good size tank to keep goldfish in.
No. A one gallon tank is not appropriate for a singular goldfish much less multiple. A ten gallon tank is the bare minimum for a singular goldfish and breeding would require a tank of twenty gallons or more. A one gallon tank cannot handle the chasing that proceeds goldfish mating nor maintain a water quality that is suitable for raising goldfish fry.
Yes. A goldfish can live without a filter. They may not live as long, but they do not have to have a filter, or a heater. I had goldfish in a five gallon tank without a filter for a long time. Hope that this helps.
Fantail goldfish are a hardy breed, strong swimmers and they compete well for food with the ryukin, shubunkin, comet or common goldfish; making these goldfish breeds good tank mates for your fantail goldfish.
Wouldn't recommend putting a goldfish in a 5 gallon tank-regardless of what type or size of goldfish. This is because the goldfish would be stunted causing it to have an untimely death. The condition in which a goldfish is "stunted" is where the fish adjusts to its tiny environment so much as to stop growing. The fish will stop growing on the outside but will continue to grow on the inside. Goldfish are naturally messy and create a LOT of waste. This factor would cause the tanks water to be poluted which inturn could kill not only the goldfish but possible your mollies too :(. Two mollies is enough for a five gallon tank. If you truly want to get a goldfish you will have to house the goldfish in a 10-20 gallon tank with very good filtration
No. A 10 gallon tank is barely big enough to keep a single goldfish in.
A 5-gallon tank is not recommended for keeping a goldfish. Goldfish require a larger tank size to thrive, ideally 20 gallons or more for a single goldfish. A larger tank provides more space for the goldfish to swim and grow, as well as better water quality.
