Answer 1

No. He in fact obeyed Allah

Answer 2

Yes. Mohammad has disobeyed Allah many times and this is why Allah asked Mohammad to ask forgiveness for his sins as written in Quran (surah 40:55, 47:19 and 48:2). One example for his sin is when he violated the teaching found in Surah 2:222 by approaching Aisha during her period time as described in Bukhari Vol 1, Book 6, 298-300. If one assumes Allah is God of The Bible, Mohammad disobeyed God in numerous times and at all times.

Answer 3

According to the Islamic teachings and beliefs the Holy Prophets don't disobey Almighty God. A momentary negligence is not considered Disobedience. It may be the result of the lack of knowledge or the error of judgement. That is immediately rectified by Almighty God.

When Hazrat Moses (AS) threw his stick which became a snake, Hazrat Moses (AS) became afraid and got ready to run away. Was this Disobedience?

No, it was a natural behaviour.

The Muslim women didn't cover their faces during early years of Islam because they were not yet commanded by God to do so. Were they disobeying God?

I strongly object to the remarks that Muhammad disobeyed God. Only a Non-believer can say this. No Prophet of Almighty disobeys Him. Prophets had been sacrificing their lives in the way of Almighty God. They are the direct disciples of Almighty God. Hazrat Noah (AS) kept preaching for 950 years.

Answer 4

According to the letter of the Qur'an, no, Mohammed did not disobey God. However, the answer to this is subject to one the greatest disagreements between Jews and Christians on the one hand and Muslims on the other. In Judaism and Christianity, prophets are entirely fallible human beings. The example in Answer 3 of Moses hitting the rock with his staff IS seen as disobedient behavior by Moses as his initial rejection of his calling to free the Israelites in Egypt by both Jews and Christians. Answer 3 shows the Islamic perspective, holding that each prophet is pure of heart and spirit and would never do anything contrary to God's will. The three Qur'anic verses cited in Answer 2 discuss penitence for sins in general, not those that Mohammed himself had incurred and are designed to be read by other Muslims who wish clemency from their transgressions.

As a result of the Islamic belief that no prophet is capable of disobedience to God because of his high moral character, the Qur'an and the Hadiths necessarily show that Mohammed never disobeyed the Word of God. Since there is no non-Islamic source on Mohammed's life from the time-period, we naturally have no information to substantiate a claim that he disobeyed the Word of God.
