CATS LIKE OLIVES??????? i havent heard that one before. but cats do have some very weird tastes for human foods, and not all of them should be eaten. I really dont suggest feeding or letting your cat have too many olives, unless you have a reason to think otherwise. but yes, cats can like some very strange things. my suggestion? get used to it. mostly, it is ok. my cat liked to drink melon juice. yeah, weird. i know You may want to look up on Google and find the list of toxic food/plants list for cats. Just because your cat likes it doesn't mean it's safe. My cat loved chewing the lily petals (which i put away "safely" i thought, but I guess it was still reachable by my cats...), but those can be toxic to them. Now I keep telling my husband to stop buying lilies, but... he loves lilies... So we just try our best to keep it away from cats when we get them.

A cat can eat olive oil, but it can cause diarrhoea or even vomiting if fed too large a dose.

Salmon oil and Evening Primrose oil are two much safer oils that a cat can benefit greatly from. You can also add a weekly treat of oily fish such as sardines or mackerel (best in spring water), or even scraps of plain fatty meat (such as skin from a chicken) either raw or cooked, depending on what your cat prefers, as this will have the same effect.

Salmon oil contains omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. It is the omega 3 fatty acids that are so valuable in salmon oil. Salmon oil helps improve coat and skin quality and lubricate joints, which an elderly cat may benefit greatly from. It is advisable to use this instead of Cod Liver oil, as this contains a high level of Vitamin A which a cat can overdose on if fed too much.

Evening Primrose oil also contains vitamins and fatty acids that promote healthy supple skin and soft, glossy fur much like Salmon oil.

Both these oils can be found in most health shops and can be added to the cat's meal a couple of times a week. Only a few drops are needed each time.
