of course any living or breathing thing can get shock aside from plants. hamsters can get shock from loud and startling noises and just the slightest startle could make the hamsters heart skip a beat. if you have a hamster remember that a noise that may seem reasonably quiet to you can be extremely loud for hamster.

Hamsters might also go into shock when they are dropped or they fall. Symptoms include lifelessness, deep, heavy breathing and a state almost like hybernation where the hamsters body temperature will drop and their limbs, ears and mouth area may turn a dark purple/blue. If this happens try and warm it up with a lot of bedding, bubble wrap and also, filling latex gloves with warm water and placing them a distance away, but close enough to give heat, but so the hamster can not be burnt and can get away if they need to. If they do not improve after this, they should see a vet.
