I have kept 2 together, but once a female was added (accidentally), they fought and one was killed.
No, but if they are male mice they will fight for dominance
if you don't buy the male mice at the same time while their in the same cage they would fight bitterly but 2 females might not have a problem with each other but the safest way to get 2 mice at a time is from the same cage.
You should never house male mice together as they will always fight to establish dominance. I have heard that it is ok to house male mice together if they were raised from babies with each other, but I wouldn't recommend it. I once housed two male mice together because a girl at the pet store advised me they had been raised together and the bigger one killed the other by the time I came home from work.
No. They probably will fight.
Of course, mice can talk to each other.
It is not good for mice to be alone. I'm assuming these mice were male. It is normal for males to fight over territory. Think back to the cages they were in. Did it have enough solitary places for each one to claim a territory? If not, then that is what started the bullying. Male mice must have territory. If there is not enough territory for all they will bully one or the other until he gives up his spot so they can have it. Just make sure the cages is big enough for each to have his own little "den". And, of course, it goes without saying that you need to keep the female mice out of the community unless you want lots and lots and LOTS of little mice running around. Mice propigate very quickly.
I have mice and they live very happily together but they are female. With Male mice they will fight and sometimes even to death! This is not any different with male rats and it is normal for them to fight for territorial reasons. I'm not sure if their fighting will get worse as they get older or if they will just get used to each other, if not the best way to resolve the problem is to put your rats in separate cages.
you put a female and a male together but watch them incase they fight!!!
hierarchy in the family (pecking order).
Mice mate by a male sticking it's penis into a female mices vagina and a sperm meets up with an egg cell and forms a baby.by sniffing each other and getting to know each other
Yes, two or moe mice may be put in the same cage together. Females can live in social groups of up to 6 in a cage, and males will also tolerate up to 3 other males in a cage together. Do not put a male and a female in together, unless you intend for them to breed. When you put new male mice into a cage together for the first time, be prepared to sit and watch for any signs of fighting for a good few hours, as if they do fight it can become serious in a matter of seconds. Females will be a lot less fierce when introduced to new mice for the first time and they will usually form a close bond almost immediately. Male mice should be introduced to each other {if you want them to live together} at a young age. 4-8 weeks is fine.
I own 3 female mice and 1 male and for the weirdest thing, the male will only b around his favorite female, shiro. So I believe that mice can in fact be monogamous, because when I separated them they would continue to chirp and sing to each other it was rather adorable.
