Depending upon whether the chocolate is organic or not, is how big the impact is. If the chocolate is fair trade then the environmental impact will be able to be kept to a minimal. The communities producing the chocolate are able to afford less harmful pesticides while still having a better chance at an education. If the chocolate is organic then there will be no environmental impact other than the coca beans themselves being harvested. The farmers do not use any pesticides as this can result in a better quality of chocolate.
