Corn on the cob should be eaten within 24 hours of being picked. This ensures that the corn has maximum moisture content and that the sugar content has not converted to starch. With that said, you can keep corn on the cob for about a week if refrigerated. The corn will not really go bad if refrigerated, it will dry out though. Check for freshness of corn by poking a kernel with your fingernail. If it is fresh juice will squirt out with force. If it's old it not squirt juice.
