no.. It actually helps me with gas...I have constant bloating and gas at night, and for some odd reason I have to chew mint gum or something minty to realive the pressure and discomfort of gas. It actually hepls me rather than make the symptoms worse. :)

EDIT: Peppermint (the herb itself) is good for aiding digestion. Chewing Gum can cause you to swallow air though. Sometimes it causes me to burp a lot.
