Crabs do have a kind of tail - actually their abdomen, similar to the "tail" of a lobster; they keep them out of sight tucked underneath the carapace, visible when you flip them over. Horseshoe crabs have a straight and prominent rigid tails, which they use to flip themselves over if stuck upside-down.
