Usually you should keep a hamster in a well-ventilated area, such as a hamster cage with BARS rather than glass. But when you have to use an aquarium, you put the hamster in another area (I used either my extra cage or his exercise ball), took out any toys in the aquarium, took it outside and threw the bedding into a garbage bag. Then, I put would clean the whole cage out with something like Spic N Span or Mr. Clean or Fabulosa, and washed it out with a sponge, then RINSED it out VERY well. You can use a towel to dry it, but I would let it completely air dry, then add the bedding, and there you go! A clean hamster cage. But be careful to clean his "potty" corner extra well, as he will usually urinate in the same area, and it can cause lots of problems if not sanitized enough.
I'd say an aquarium. It's safe (escape proof), easy to clean, and you have easy access to your pet.
Provided the tank does not leak and it has been thoroughly cleaned there is no reason why it should not be suitable for keeping fish in.
A 10-gallon aquarium is a suitable size for a hamster. It provides enough space for them to move around and explore comfortably.
The best type of tank for a hamster is a glass aquarium with a secure lid to prevent escapes and provide good ventilation. Glass tanks are easy to clean, provide a safe environment for the hamster, and allow for easy observation of the pet.
You should probably really clean it out really well first, so it is sanatized so it won't make your fish sick. Or you could buy a brand new aquarium so then you won't have to worry if you cleaned it good enough or not, so then your fish can live healthily.
