you can use paste or gel food coloring which you can find at Walmart do not use drops because it makes the fondant really sticky and hard to work with all you have to do is start with a little bit of color take tooth pick and take a little bit of coloring from the jar then put that on the fondant use your hand to knead it in if you think the color is to light add or coloring to dark add more fondant and you might want to wear gloves because the coloring can stain your hands for 3 to 4 days
food coloring
I just use very little brown gel paste coloring. You can also add a little ivory food color to your fondant.
To fix a fondant cake defect, first assess the issue, such as cracks, tears, or uneven surfaces. For cracks, gently smooth the area with a bit of vegetable shortening or water, then reapply a thin layer of fondant if necessary. For tears, you can patch them with a piece of fondant that matches the color and texture. If the surface is uneven, use a fondant smoother to even it out, or lightly roll the fondant to make it more pliable.
Coloring fondant is so easy. Take out the amount of fondant you will need. Dip a toothpick into food coloring. Dot the fondant and then knead it super well to be completely blended. You can roll the fondant and if it is not even, knead it some more. For some real fun, color several piece of fondant in complimentary colors. Then very gently knead the colors together. Don't over do the kneading together or you will wind up with probably something yucky. If you do it right, you can have nice swirly looks.Another way is to take each individual color and roll it between your hands to create a long round strip. Braid or twist together several color strips and lightly press together. Again don't over do mixing colors.
To make bright red fondant, start with white fondant and knead in gel food coloring, as gel provides a more vibrant color than liquid. Add the color gradually, ensuring even distribution, and continue to knead until the desired shade is reached. If the color appears too dark or dull, you can add a small amount of white fondant to lighten it. To achieve a truly bright red, consider using a combination of red and a touch of pink or orange to enhance the vibrancy.
Fondant.
Use gel coloring, not the liquid colors you can buy at the supermarket. Knead the fondant to soften it, then add the color and knead it in until it's thoroughly mixed. Some colors will deepen overnight, like Americolor's super red and super black. If you are making the fondant and need an entire batch of one color, it's easiest to add the color when you add the liquids to the recipe. If you're making black fondant and don't mind it having a chocolate taste, substitute 3/4 cup cocoa powder for 1 cup of powdered sugar in your recipe, and you'll end up with dark brown fondant. Add a tiny bit of black color and let it rest overnight, and it will turn a nice dark black.
fondant that is rolled
You could, but probably easier to mix in the color before you do so.
The fondant will crystallise
Can the fondant sealer be used instead of whipped fondant so it won't be very sweet or does the fondant have to rolled out thinner
