Hi First of all peaches don't have segments. Citrus fruit such as Oranges and grapefruits do. Anyway...First take a paring knife - that is the small (roughly 1.5 inch blade) and cut the peach in half. Grasp each half of the peach gently and turn in opposite directions - this should free the stone from one half of the peach. Set this half aside. Then, to remove the stone - BE CAREFUL - set the half still attached to the stone on a counter and strike the stone with your paring knife. Hold the peach in your palm and rotate the knife. The stone should now be easily removed. You can now proceed slicing each half of the peach. Place the peach with with the end that was attached to the stem facing away from you. You should begin slicing the peach at an angle which should reach 90 degrees once you get to the top of the peach continue slicing evenly to form uniform pieces. Hope this helps you! Sorry if I was too specific - I went to the Culinary Institute of America and...Food is my thing!

Best Wishes and Happy Peach Slicing!

How many cups of peaches equals three pounds?

Three pounds of peaches is approximately equal to 6 to 9 cups, depending on how the peaches are cut and whether they are sliced or diced. Whole peaches tend to yield fewer cups than sliced ones due to the air space between slices. For a more accurate measurement, it's best to weigh the peaches after slicing.

How many peaches does it take to make a cup?

2 peaches This would have to be very small peaches. Measuring a fresh peach in a recipe or diet replacement, it would be 1 AVERAGE peach to meaure 1 cup of peaches. Using purchased/processed peaches which are diced, it would still be 1 peach per 1 cup. If you are processing (canning), removing the pit and quartering the fruit, you would be able to get 2 peaches in a pint jar.
