First get the tortilla and cut them into 1/4 inch strips. Heat the stove at medium level. Get a 3 quart saucepan and put it on top of it. Pour in the vegetable oil. You have to fry the tortilla until they become crispy and change in color to brown. Once done, remove them immediately. op a clean plate with paper towels and then drain the strips.

Now put the saucepan with oil and put it back to the stove. Add the chopped onion and start cooking it for about 2 minutes. Stir it frequently. Add the Chile and garlic after that. Once they acquire a crisp-tender texture, add the salt, tomatoes and broth right away. Keep cooking the dish until it boils. Now lower the heat and cover the pan. Simmer the dish for about 15 minutes. Put the chicken also. Turn the stove off when the chicken gets hotter.
