Do you have a blender? Throw the beans in there with their canned liquid (or whatever liquid has accumulated in the pan you're cooking them in or water) and turn that puppy on. If you have enough liquid and you set it high enough, it should puree with no problem. If you don't have a blender (or access to one - ask your neighbor), you could cook them then put them in a mortar and MASH them with a pestle, but that would take forever.

How to make a puree: What is the best method for creating a smooth and creamy puree using fresh ingredients?

To make a smooth and creamy puree using fresh ingredients, the best method is to first cook or soften the ingredients, then blend them in a food processor or blender until smooth. Adding a small amount of liquid, such as water or broth, can help achieve the desired consistency. Straining the puree through a fine mesh sieve can also help remove any lumps for a smoother texture.

I am making white bean hummus and recipe does not specify whether to cook the beans before making hummus?

Making hummus involves pureeing the beans (Classically, garbanzos/chic peas.) and the tahini together. It is MUCH easier to puree cooked beans than dried beans. Also, ground, dried beans won't cook as easily as whole beans. The resultant product is also much more palatable. Regardless of the fact that your recipe omits this step, you should cook the beans. Make sure you salt the water.

How do you make hamous?

I believe you're referring to "hummus," which also has several other spellings. Hummus is a Middle Eastern dish consisting of chickpeas (garbanzo beans) that have been cooked, blended with olive oil and garlic, and mashed to make a smooth consistency. To make hummus at home, the easiest way is to purchase a can of garbanzo beans. Drain it and pour the beans into a food processor. Add two peeled garlic cloves. Puree the beans and cloves while drizzling olive oil into the well. Be frugal with the oil; depending on the moisture of the beans, you may not need a lot. When it's a "dipping" consistency, use a spatula to scoop it into a bowl. Drizzle a little more olive oil on top and serve with triangles of toasted pita bread.
