I don't see why not! It is just a common meal that two people can share. I buy oysters all the time and eat them with my family, friends, and in the presence of my cat (if no one will accompany me for dinner). In fact, I think people should eat oysters together more often. I have very fond memories of mollusks because it was the food I ate when my fiancee and I had our first date.
