Depends what kind of diploma if you want a certificate for cooking to show a restaurant you know what your doing you can take a 10month course if your becoming like a head chef you need a associates degree which is a 2year degree and if you want to be like bobby flay look up Food institute of America in NY its very expensive but one of the best cooking schools in the world its a 4 year school and gives you a masters i really don't see the difference between associates and bachelor degree because usually people just requires associates to a bachelor will be wasting time and money
