***I had to post this. Ignore this IDIOT that put "INDEFINATELY". NOTHING IS GOOD "INDEFINATELY" as far as Food. Did you ever hear of MOLD? Expiration dates are put for a reason.Go to SNOPES and then ask the question how long after expiration date can you use mixes - cake, pancake etc and you will be horrified at what you read and there certainly should be a warning on the labels- check out that, and I think you will throw away all your old mixes. Pancake Mix is the Highest risk to grow mold and if a person who has a mold allergy ingests it they can die. Mold is formed from Moisture & Yeast (1 or other or both)especially mixes directly in box or in paperbag inside box. Very easy for moisture to get in - so I pose this question: is it worth risking getting yourself or a friend or family member ill or possibly kill them to save $3 on buying a new mix?
Normally a brownie mix does not contain leavening agents, whereas a cake mix does include leavening agents. Also, a typical brownie mix will make much less batter than a cake mix.
The same as cake mix. Approx. 3-5 months.
Use extracts and flavorings to give cake mixes your personal touch. Coconut extract is a wonderful compliment to chocolate cake mix, as well as to brownie mix, as is cherry flavoring. Adding butter flavoring to yellow and white cake mix gives them a wonderful rich taste. And adding vanilla extract to any cake mix intensifies the natural flavors of any cake mix. Experiment with your favorite extract flavors and cake mixes; you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

No, brownie mix cannot be directly transformed into cake mix as they have different ingredients and ratios.
There seems to be some misunderstanding. Pillsbury - and other companies - produce chocolate cake mixes, along with chocolate brownie mixes, cookie mixes, and so forth. These mixes include ordinary all purpose or cake flour combined with sugar, cocoa and other ingredients. You use the mix by adding other things, usually eggs, oil or butter, water or milk according to the directions on the package. > But there is not a commercial product that is "chocolate cake flour." Flour is simply flour; cake flour has less gluten (a protein) than all-purpose or bread flour. You need to add cocoa or baking chocolate to the cake flour in order to make chocolate cake.
To make a delicious dessert with layers of both brownie and cake, you can start by baking a layer of brownie in a square or rectangular pan. Once the brownie layer is baked and cooled, you can then pour cake batter on top of the brownie layer and bake it again until the cake is cooked through. You can repeat this process to create multiple layers of brownie and cake. Finally, you can top the dessert with frosting, ganache, or whipped cream for added flavor and decoration.
In my experience the temperature of the oven makes no difference, but it is how you make them that makes them chewy or not. Most brownie mixes tell you how to mix it to make them cake like or chewy.
You need to check the instructions on the specific brownie mix you are thinking about. Some brownie mixes only need water added. Some need water, egg, and sometimes oil added.
To create a unique dessert by mixing brownie and yellow cake mix together, simply combine the two mixes according to their instructions in a baking pan. You can swirl the batters together for a marbled effect or layer them for a more distinct look. Bake as directed and enjoy your delicious and creative dessert!
No, you can not safely use cake icing that is 2 years after the expiration date.
