Broiler chickens grow very fast and the feed intake should be closely watched to avoid them growing to fast or they could have leg problems among others. Let them eat all they can for 8 hours then remove the feed until the next day. Keep in mind that feed can vary depending on whether they are being kept in battery cages, free ranging, ect.
10 chickens
just one bag give it to the farmer and he will give you ones of his chickens
A good basic feed should be available at all times for your chickens. Start with about 3 oz. per bird and check how much is gone after a day. Keep in mind the birds will waste some of the feed by walking through and scattering the grains.
The temperatures of broiler houses are controlled in order for the optimum number of chickens to thrive so the farmers can slaughter them for profit and to keep the chickens from losing too much heat energy to help them grow better. The unused energy can be used for growth of the chicken.
That much food would feed at least 102 people.
If this is not a broiler( meat bird) rooster, and he is not able to freerange for his forage then try offering him one third pound of feed per day. If he leaves food over night then it is too much, cut down to one quarter pound. If you plan on fatting him up and he feels thin ( most heritage breeds do) try using a broiler grower. Usually feeding more feed is only a waste of feed, but if he is an extra hungry bird give him a little more.
Broiler chickens are raised primarily for their meat. The goal of the backyard grower is the same as those that raise broiler chickens commercially; putting weight on the bird as quickly as possible. Broilers are also known as frying or fryer chickens. Broilers are harvested at various ages for Cornish hens, nuggets and chicken parts. Broilers raised at home are generally purchased as chicks.
i would say about 100 chickens to feed that many people.
Between 3 to 4 kg over 6-7 week period!
You can keep "chicken feed" available to them 24/7 byrumjr I feed my chicken two time each day. Chickens should eat all there food within one hour if not rats will come after some time.
Chickens can eat coconut, it's just not so good for them so don't feed them too much!
The amount of chicken feed needed for 200 chickens depends on their age and purpose. On average, adult chickens consume about 0.25 to 0.5 pounds of feed per bird daily. Therefore, for 200 adult chickens, you would need approximately 50 to 100 pounds of feed per day. Adjustments may be necessary based on specific dietary needs or the type of feed used.
